My wife and I are avid birders and travelers - and I'm the photographer of the couple (very much an amateur, but enjoying it anyway). When it comes to birds, I'm definitely much more of a birder rather than a photographer of birds (as you can tell from the stream).
We've been living in San Francisco since 2003, both having grown up (and started birding) on the east coast. The birding "bug" has led us to visit some very interesting places, including Alaska in 2005, Belize in March 2007 and Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands in November 2008. And we've done a fair amount of non-birding (or casual birding) trips as well.
I've recently switched over to a Nikon D7000 for my "better" photography.
I've been lucky enough to have a photo published on the front page of the San Francisco Chronicle, as well as a few other newsletters, etc. of non-profit organizations. Please feel free to contact me to request permission to publish any of my photos.
I was somehow selected for inclusion in Chris Santella's book "Fifty Places to Go Birding Before You Die: Birding Experts Share the World's Greatest Destinations," in the chapter about Pt. Reyes, CA.
