The act of designing is a great adventure to me, I am always eager to be in the process, I get energy from the decisions to be made and by taking projects from concept to completion. With every piece I learn something new about how and why I design.

My concepts springs from a specific starting point, whether it is a particular photograph, a print, a story, or even a myth.

I need a place to start from, walls to bounce off, a platform to leap from. I see restrictions as a challenge and it pushes my imagination and creativity.

When my imagination is triggered I can’t wait to design a piece that has an element of the beauty that first caught my attention. I realise that it is my reaction to that beauty; how it makes me feel, that I crave.

I get a real sense of joy out of creating something that’s beautiful to my eye, then when it enters the public realm, the anticipation of reaction is as thrilling as the process of designing.
