Me

I picked up my first DSLR in 2006 which was an 8 mega pixel Olympus E500. This was the beginning of a passion for photography which is still as strong today.

I am a self taught amateur photographer with no academic training at all. Most of my skills have been honed by trial and error, reading photography magazines and many hours down at my favourite haunt of Portencross.

I tend to be over critical and lack self confidence in my work. I am also dyslexic and colour blind.

However, when I am out on location with my camera and the light is right, I feel like the best photographer in the world.

I have had my shots commended in the Landscape Photographer of the Year competition 2008-2009- 2010-2011 and 2012. My photos have been exhibited at the National Theatre in London and have been published in the Sunday Times magazine.

I first came upon Peters photographs a few years ago and was impressed by the essence of Scotland he captured. Every one of his pictures is a gem, full of detail and light unseen on many professional pictures. Always a joy to look at them.

Have you ever asked yourself, "Why can't I see like Peter?" It's because there is only one. Consistently exquisite images helps to descibe his work, creative in style and innovative in thought comes close to what goes on behind the camera. For some of the best that flickr offers, this contributor is among the finest.

It is an absolute pleasure to browse these pages, the shots all are much more than photos, the content, ambiance, subject and composition all stand out as a benchmark to others.

Peter land- and seascapes of his Scottish homeland must easily rank among the best you can find here in Flickr. Top notch material. Not only his subjects' choice is usually appealing but the framings and POVs he favours tend to enhance the dramatic and eye-catching beauty of those. Few can photograph isolated trees the way he does! I enjoy his photographs enormously. They've certainly aroused my interest to eventually visit the Scottish shoreline in a not too distant future.
