I have for many years been interested in two-dimensional patterns and three dimensional forms and how the two play off one another. A three dimensional object represented on a two dimensional surface like a photograph or painting will often display a strong two dimensional pattern. Conversely, a two dimensional pattern displayed on a two dimensional surface will often hint at a three dimensional form.
