I have been making and printing photographs for slightly over half a century. While I occasionally use my digital Sony, my true love remains black and white film photography, and I jokingly remark that I must have one of the last functioning darkrooms in New Jersey. Early on, I used Leica rangefinders to document my hiking and climbing adventures. But when I received my first raise in corporate life, I spent it on my first 4x5 view camera, the format and tool I still enjoy most. While I am definitely an amateur, making images for my own enjoyment, there was a period when I tried to make the hobby pay for itself by working spare-time as the staff photographer for a small magazine, and doing a small amount of event photography. The latter introduced me to medium format, so my "arsenal" these days consists of a Leica M6, and Rollei 6006, and a Canham DLC^2 4x5. I have standardized my processing to Ilford HP5+ in all formats, Pyrocat-HD developer for MF and LF, and Ilford papers, RC for work prints, and FB for those images which I feel are worthy of dry mounting and display.
