PETER HUGO MCCLURE'S: Biography/Statement

Born in Venice, Italy (19/8/47) to Anglo/Yugoslav parentage...

From the age of 6 mths lived in UK. Education: schooled in the UK including Art/Architecture at College & have been passionate about the arts ever since... have been self employed all my working life working in many fields to supplement meagre earnings in the Arts though this has not prevented a prodigious out put... i have never aspired to be a Professional Artist as i have always thought it more important to be ethical in all one's persuits and i would never bow down to money... consider the recent exposures of corporate corruption that has reached epidemic proportions... none the less it only reaffirms my strong belief that truly Great Artists do not compromise their ideals for money or political favours but would rather die... Would Milton or Blake have compromised their art for anything that the World could offer apart from The Truth.

So i have not compromised myself... i am not a household

name and i have never earned a living from my art work but

the internet...for a few years now i have been busy creating this web-site which contains Coloured Art-Work, Black & White Photos and Poetry plus anecdotes that relate to: Art...Life & Every-Thing!

I have been creating art-work for over 40 yrs and over the years my paintings sculptures have become more geometric to the point where i describe my work as part of a subliminal movement that is absent from main-stream art to which i have coined the term GEOMETRISM...I am now collating work from around the World the fits into this genre.
