I have been interested in nature for almost my whole life, self-taught by being on my own exploring the woods at the end of the urban city street which ran past my house every summer of my formative years. I am still exploring but in my later years by travelling the world. My biggest passion is Ornithology and I have studied birds for general pleasure as do most bird watchers, but also as a field of study for environmental and bird monitoring as a professional. My favourite location is Point Pelee National Park in southern Canada, and you will see many albums here from over the more recent years when I have had better cameras. For over 20 years i have been a trip leader for Quest Nature Tours out of Toronto, Canada, and really love showing people of like mind the natural wonders of our destinations. As i continue to develop my photographic skills, and because i have an ecologist training, I find that the subjects of many of my photos also included their very important surroundings. I know the bird in the photo, for instance, has its own beauty, but by allowing background into a shot I hope to show a better glimpse, hopefully in an artistic way, of how the species fits into and depends on its surroundings. I hope my photos inspire others to get out to nature but also to have a firm desire to protect what we have left.
