After many years of Yashica/Contax/Kodachrome64 I went digital in 2008. Hopefully all those years of waiting weeks before seeing the results has made think a little a bit before releasing the shutter. One day I may get around to buying a decent scanner and adding my best slides from the some 50 countries I have visited, but for now all I have to show pre-2008 are a few photos from India done on a friends scanner (thanks Steve).
Initially chose a compact over an SLR so I can always carry it by pocket/belt/wife's handbag. Went for the FX500 as at the time Panasonic were taking ages to bring out the LX2. Like the touch sensitive screen as long as it is not too bright - do miss the viewfinder! Would recommend the camera to others - only a few minor niggles: manual mode difficult to use with scroll bars obscurring much of screen ((manual button operation would be nice) and 16 by 9 aspect photos can only be reduced to 2M (smaller would be nice for E-mails).
Got a Nikon D3100 Xmas 2010 so most of my photos since then taken with it.
Didn't add any photos for 10 years as hit the (then) 200 limit of photos for free accounts. Since then I have 'invested' in some Nikon Z gear (Z6, 20, 35, 20-70 and 70-180) so as from 2025 gonna start posting what I have been up to.
Hope you like the photos, any comments welcomed.
