I'm something of a nomad. Or, I was. I left graduate school in 1992, and worked in six countries, until 2006. I'm back in Toronto, where I have a tenured job teaching Communications at a local college. I take photos as a way to alleviate stress (and to do something besides grade papers and plan lessons), and to be part of a community.
I hope, also, to show people what my life's been like up until now, and onward from here, through my pictures. Check out my sets!
I welcome comments, as I am still a neophyte.
I have lived and worked in The Czech Republic, the Kingdom of Thailand, The People's Republic of China, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, and Japan. I recently got tenured in a college in Toronto.
I speak English and French, and Czech, a bit of Thai, some Putonghua (Mandarin Chinese), lots of Viet, and a smattering of Japanese.
The hardest part, now, is being stationary. Not getting on jumbo jets and zooming off to work somewhere I've never been. And finding inspiration in the city and the people around me.

If I could I would favorite each and everyone of Peter's photos. Fun. Personal. Insightful. Inspiring. True life stories. That, and he is really fun to go drinking with.
