It was in April 2010 that I was struck with the photography bug. That happened while visiting Paris. The landscape, the famous monuments, the River Seine, the buildings, the art.....I just completely fell in love with the city and wanted to photograph it all. Of course, there is only so much magic a Nokia 8600 XpressMusic can capture. So when comparing my pictures to my wife's back in England (she got some great pictures with her Canon point and shoot), I realised I wanted more!

1 month later I'd bought a Panasonic FZ38 bridge camera. Another 2 months down the line and I had bought a Nikon D90. I now currently own a D700. The DSLR technology moves fast and I know this will soon be a 'has been' but until it's absolutely necessary to move on, this is my tool.

I did have an interest in wildlife photography in my Teen's but like every interest then, it soon faded. I'd still love to get great wildlife photography, but feel the truly great images need expensive gear. So the wildlife thing is on the shelf at the moment until I can afford the gear. My favourite type of photography is landscapes and buildings. I've already spent a lot of money on my Photography passion (like most people) but I'm always enjoying it.

As I said, my favourite type of photography is landscapes and buildings but I also love wildlife, historical (similar to buildings I guess), sport and some portrait photography. I'd love to produce pictures in all these fields. I love HDR photography, but at the same time I realise not every picture is suited to it. I love the whole post-processing side of photography though.

Please feel free to add me as a contact. Would love to talk and stay in contact with people who have similar interests in photography as I do......

All the best, Pete
