In a mad world only the mad are sane ~ Akira Kurosawa
Here's to insanity!
This planet - this Earth - is an island of beauty in a sea of desolation. There is a chance that life exists elsewhere, but we could be just a freak accident. Who knows?
If we assume that life does not exist anywhere else, do we not have a duty to protect the glorious diversity of life that exists on this planet? Should we not do all that we can to limit our impact?
I heard, recently, a former science advisor to a country's president express the opinion on national television that global warming is an elaborate hoax.
AN ELABORATE HOAX!
Evidence and probabilities aside to support the argument that we are destroying our only home, yes the scientific community could be wrong.
But what if it's right? What if they've all hit the nail right on the head, and we are causing the planet to heat up at an unprecedented rate? Can we afford to take the risk? Is it such a bad thing to want to reduce our effect?
Forget government. They don't have the will power to make the necessary changes. Action begins at home. If everyone took their own action to reduce their footprint, half the battle would be won.
If we think before we act, we can make a difference.
