I'm 71 and I've inevitably done photography over the years, with varying degrees of intensity and success. I was born in South Africa and have spent the last 26 years in London. I love this city and also am always breathtaken by the beauty of the countryside outside the metropolis.

The photographs of Cape Town and the Cedarberg were taken with a Canon F1 using Ilford film. I processed the negatives and printed them myself. I have recently scanned them in from negative and am delighted to remake their acquaintance. The shots of New York were taken with an Olympus XA. Both delightful cameras. The latest pics are from an Olympus 4040 digital and a Fuji Finepix 610.

I joined Flickr some time back but have only recently come to appreciate what an entertaining, instructive experience of photography and people it provides - right here on our screens. It's great - thanks folks!
