WireWrangler Extraordinaire - Purveyor of Tutorials for Hopeless Wire Addicts
The details are not the details. They make the design." Charles Eames
Did I mention that I love tiny wire details?
I'm excited to share and learn here!! Art is in the details! Textiles have been a source of inspiration since I was very young. The colored embroidery floss was nice - but my favorites were cut work and black&white. These showed off the beauty of the stitches themselves and required a special level of mastery from the person attempting them. I loved rising to the challenge then, and still do!
My mom, a professional costumer and tailor whose favorite saying was "Rip it out! It's handmade, not homemade!" trained my critical eye, and influenced me to be more gentle with my students. In 2006, I was encouraged by healthcare professionals to rehabilitate a broken wrist using beadwork skills. I found holding a needle was nearly impossible, so elected to pick up pliers and metal. I've never looked back!
