Reality is Optically Inspired

The human eye is remarkable. It focuses light on to a photo sensor very much like a camera. Yet, without neural networks to interpret what the eye “sees,” vision has little meaning; most of us process our vision similarly and “see” a concrete reality. This is the reality you and I live in.

A camera, although mechanically similar to our eye, is fundamentally unique in the sense that we can greatly manipulate the light that reaches the sensor. This is what makes photography so great. Thus, I (and you) can now manipulate reality to fit our vision, emotions, thoughts. We can now express another version of reality.

I got my first SLR Oct, 2008; still in learning and in an exploratory stage. Your comments have been great!
