I'm not a professional photographer, just an amateur shutterbug. I have been using Canon cameras and lenses pretty much exclusively since I was a boy. Up until the late 1990s I shot 35 mm film, first on a Canon T90 and, later on, a Canon EOS 650.

At that time I was managing a large security system for one of the big computer electronics manufacturing companies here in the silicon valley. The security television cameras were my first real experience with electronic photography. As I tried to work with the equipment and improve the blurry, noisy, low resolution images from those security cameras and video recorders, I became an avid fan of digital photography. In 2001 I bought a Canon 1Ds mark ll. Since then I have also bought a Canon 400D and, recently, a 5D mark ll. I find photography to be a relaxing, challenging, interesting, and always fun hobby.

I still live in the "silicon valley" part of the bay area about halfway between San Francisco and San Jose.
