I remember the first time I saw Alecia - she was sitting at the very back of my beginning photography class. At the end of the second class she came up and quietly asked a couple of questions, quite charming in her quiet, almost shy way of approaching "the teacher". Then she submitted some of her work for review. This girl had chops! That was years ago and I'm so happy to have remained in contact and seen her grow in her ability. Alecia makes photography appear effortless. Of all of the photographers I have met and/or taught over the years, she has that rare gift of expression with the camera as an extension of how she sees the world. Her tenacity to get the shot is impressive too. She works hard with the tools at hand to create the image that she sees in her head. I'm grateful to know such a great talent personally, and look forward to seeing her future work as she continues to show me the ordinary world in extraordinary ways.
