Originally I am from New England but have been in Kansas since 1976. I am a biologist and professor, also a poet and photographer with lots to learn and try! I missed out on film, only having experience with digital. I started out doing close up mainly flowers and insects- I guess that makes sense and have been branching out to landscape and people. As for gear, I started out with a Canon Rebel XT and still shoot with my trusty T2i and an 80D. I own a variety of Canon lenses ranging from a 10-18mm wide angle to my first L series lens a classic 400mm EF which I call Stinger. My walking lens is a 55-250mm EFS. I delight in bringing out beauty in common things that are overlooked. I am that weird person about whom I overheard a little girl asking her mom why that person is taking pictures of dead branches. Both my wife and I are Disney freaks: she jokes that she goes for the characters and I go for the plants.
