Portage County District Library (PCDL) provides library service to most Portage County residents (exception of those residing within the Kent and Ravenna school districts). Services include: Borrowing popular DVDs and Blu-Rays, mobile hotspots, books, magazines, music CDs, video games, recorded books on CD, comic books, graphic novels, and free access to digital services. Digital services such as Hoopla, OverDrive, and Flipster Digital Magazines.

PCDL participates in the SearchOhio and OhioLINK statewide lending program with other libraries, which provides access to additional materials. In addition, PCDL also provides a variety of programming to entertain and enrich the lives of its library users- children's, teen, and adult alike. And PCDL provides free access to the use of internet and computers and offers a small collection of sensory tools for those with disabilities and also available for borrowing.

PCDL currently provides these services through (5) five physical branch locations including Aurora Memorial, Garrettsville, Pierce Streetsboro, Randolph, and Windham. PCDL also provides a free delivery service through its Outreach Services department. Home delivery is for those service area residents unable to visit a physical branch due to injury, disability, or other condition which has resulted in their becoming immobile. Outreach Services also provides delivery service to (9) nine remote locker locations with the Library Express program and the department maintains The Library Box, a lending machine located in the NEW Center on the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) in Rootstown.

PCDL recently installed Hearing Loop, an audio system which magnifies transmitted sound to hearing aids and cochlear implants for the hearing impaired, to each physical branch location.
