Flickr is a workspace for me, a notebook of sorts. I post things because I can log on and look at my pics and others pics from anywhere.
It is a slow thinking and looking process and the end result is a print on the wall. It gives others a chance to look over my shoulder and make comments.
I will tell you if I like something and sometimes why. And will accept the same from you. I try to remember that photography is a personal struggle to understand the world around us and is expressed through craft to become art.
Oh, and of course you need my explicit permission to use any of my images. Use without permission is not cool and is against the law.
My current equipment list: Anything that can make an image. I don't believe it is important to the viewer of a photograph if I used a 7000 dollar DSLR or a 70 dollar point and shoot, as long as something in the image touches something in the viewer.
" Photography must contain one thing: the humanity of the moment." Robert Frank ~
"Photography is a small voice at best. Daily we are deluged with photography at its worst, until its drone of superficiality threatens to numb our sensitivity to all images. Then why photograph? Because sometimes--just sometimes--photographs can lure our senses into greater awareness. Much depends on the viewer; but to some, photographs can demand enough of emotions to be a catalyst to thinking." W. Eugene Smith
