I will, on occasion, take the camera on an outing "to see what there is to see" but I also record OUR family milestones or just daily life. This account does not separate my artistic side from my domestic side or my explorer side. It is a box of chocolates all mixed together.

We all have, or had, ideas about how our life might turn out. I did not become a NASA astronaut, a great American hero, the President or a millionaire as I imagined when I was in grade school at St. Austin's Catholic School. It would appear that I have failed myself the life I had envisioned.

Then I observe my little World and the many faces that dash in and out of focus, many intimately connected with my little World, many I only briefly become aware of. Photographs show me this which then remind me of those events, milestones, connections.

I've realized that I have been very lucky in life after all.

Family, friends, pizza rolls, coffee, rice dishes, a varied and ever changing work history, and the many interests that I am able to pursue, make up a large portion to the secret of what I view as my success.

Life, I've realized, is all about connections and engagement. Human emotions bond us to our environment, our principles, our beliefs and to others. Our greatest strength is not intelligence, but rather, emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is not easily captured through photographs, but when one captures it, it is powerful to see, and one can almost feel it.
