Paul's photos are technically flawless, full of emotions and stories. He has the ability to see what others would never even think of capturing. You often wonder "why didn't I think of it"...but then again you are not Paul. He is a very versatile photographer who can see beauty everywhere he goes (or maybe, it is part … Read more

Paul's photos are technically flawless, full of emotions and stories. He has the ability to see what others would never even think of capturing. You often wonder "why didn't I think of it"...but then again you are not Paul. He is a very versatile photographer who can see beauty everywhere he goes (or maybe, it is part of his ability to turn everything he sees into beautiful photos). It is a delight to watch his photostream and his website...Thanks Paul for sharing with us!

Although I have never met Paul in real life, I feel like I have known him for a long time. Maybe because the first time I looked at his work , I felt that this was the kind of artistic level I wish I could attain. He is one of the best composers of image I have ever seen, accompanied with a perfect technique every time, even in difficult situations. (Sometimes, I think he chooses only difficult lighting situations...) Paul is also very good at appreciating others' work and if you ask him a question, he will always oblige with the right answer. Thank you Paul!

Paul is a photographer and friend I greatly respect. I always ask his advice and learn from him all the time. There is never a time when I stop learning and Paul has always been generous in sharing his knowledge and experience. I count him as one of my favourite photographers.

Both Paul and his wife, Magda, have offered advice and given me more inspiration than most over the last serveral years I've known them. Both Paul and his wife, Magda, have offered advice and given me more inspiration than most over the last serveral years I've known them. Paul's mission statement is "seeing beyond the obvious" which I didn't really get at first. But then with a look through his work and with my own development as a photographer, it became glareingly obvious. Paul's from a very different school of photography to most I've seen on the web. He's seen more of the world than most, and as a result has develped a technique of grabbing images in split seconds that would take others minutes to compose. This is best shown with his images of people he comes across in the street - capturing a moment before the "obvious" smile comes, seeing things happening that most would walk past or charming just about anyone into allowing a shot to be taken. The other aspect to look out for his the story telling in his shots. Each image is more than just a "nice pic", it has a distinct subject and somehow you can "read" it instantly. Be it a facial expression, implied lead lines or any number of compositional tools. If you're after super-saturated landscapes and manic HDR, or whatever the latest trend is, then look at someone elses portfolio. But if you want to learn about capturing powerful images from what most people would obliviously walk past, I'd have a dig around in this portfolio. Hope to see you soon mate Ade
