Drag to set position!
On the cold winter day of the 18 November 1959 – that is a long time ago... – I arrived into this world in Brussels, Belgium.
I have a Ph D in Sciences with emphasis on Ecology and a Master in Business & Administration. I've indeed spent too much time in university... but it's also a long time ago.
I am a passionate nature photographer who has exhibited solo photographic work in Brussels, Paris, Moscow, Harare and Cape Town.
In 1994, I made my first big dream come true and started a 4-year overland expedition along the Great Rift Valley in Eastern Africa, from Brussels to Cape Town. This life-changing story was turned into a photographic movie 'Living Your Dream' screened in South Africa in 2004.
Since 1999, I am living in my own designed earth lodge Cocagne in Gordon's Bay near Cape Town, South Africa.
I am blessed as I have two wonderful children : a girl Enya and a boy James.
I enjoy using my creative talents as the Art Director of my primary business (for now) – Gondwana Studio, a multimedia studio which specializes in database web development. In 2011 I also started a new business venture (Building Time Lapse) which focus on time-lapse video of green building sites and projects around Africa.
I am the co-founder and chairman of Kids of Nature, an foundation which aims to reconnect children with nature.
I have published 2 books in South Africa : In Celebration of Fynbos (Struik - 2007) and Enya & James in the Land of Magic (Kids of Nature - 2009) and regularly contribute with photographs and features to South African magazines and KidsOfNature.com.
I am also publishing and selling inspirational photo movies (visual meditations) on the internet and organizing customised photographic safaris in Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.
