My home is in the Peak District National Park, the UK's busiest. I'm an outdoor enthusiast and enjoy walking, kayaking / canoeing, scuba diving, cross-country skiing, mountain biking and riding horses, (and camels whilst in desert areas). I travel quite widely and have led various expeditions, (China, Pakistan, Icelend, Bolivia etc). My real traveling passion is the Silk Road on which I have traveled quite widely in the Taklamakan and Gobi Deserts, the Mongolian Steppe and the Tian Shan, Pamir and Karakoram Mountains. I have also lived in several countries, most notably in Oman.
