Chinese philosophy describes how the yin-yang represents two polar forces, dark and light. These opposing forces, while in contrast, are co-dependent and intertwined allowing for a fusion to form a greater whole. My natural tendencies, as well as acquired ones, can be related to this noteworthy and well established icon. I am not afraid to dive into a challenge head first but still am calculating and collective with my decisions. I not only possess the ability to listen and understand other parties’ perspectives but am also able to strongly articulate my own. I pride myself in being a leader and teacher but am constantly learning from my mentors. These examples reiterate how a person cannot possess only one force, but require both to become a greater whole and in my life that whole is me.
