What you have here is my collective work taken over the past several years since I first picked up a camera in 2004 for the sole purpose of photographing early twenty-somethings playing in punk rock bands. Between then and now, I have learned a great deal about who I am as a photojournalist and what kind of impact I want my photos to have on the world. This journey was unintentional; it evolved organically as I began to shift from taking photos of perspiring punk rockers in basements and small clubs to documenting the lives and experiences of the people who surround me. Today, I continue my journey as I strive to capture moments in an honest and respectful manner in my professional work. My hope is that my work will be used as a tool to inform the public of social issues and that it will spark conversation and encourage the sharing of ideas.
The work displayed here is what I consider to be the start of my life in the world of photojournalism, and I look forward to continuing my life behind the camera tomorrow and every day that follows as I continue this amazing journey.
