Prior to 2006 I was a watercolour painter, moving from realism to abstraction as time went on. Then I encountered some amazing teachers (Milos Milidrag, George Glenn and David Garneau) and I switched to acrylics and continued to explore abstract and non-representational painting.

More recently I have encountered oil and cold wax through workshops with Jan Mason-Steeves, a gifted and sensitive teacher and painter. This medium has given me new tools to explore painting intuitively, without pre-conceived ideas of what the final work will be. At times this work references landscape, other times figures appear. I try to keep myself open to whatever needs to come out.

My favourite painters are the German Expressionists, in particular Kandinsky, and the Abstract Impressionists.
