Growing up my Dad was interested in photography. Of course back then there were no DLSR's so he had to log everything he did, the settings he used and the light levels for each and every shot in order to learn. My first proper digital camera was a Fuji, and I really loved it. I would take shot after shot, downloading them onto my laptop, tweak the aperture and go again, until I got exactly the shot I imagined in my head. Eventually of course I realised that the camera was limiting me, and so began my journey with DLSR's. The learning curve is massive and never ending. Youtube, and indeed flickr became my teachers, and the world became my classroom.

I love all kinds of photography, but I particularly enjoy table top photography. I love setting up the shot, playing with the light, and the shadows, and creating a mini world on my kitchen table. You can read so much, you can watch so many youtube videos, but when you take the camera in your hand and try it yourself, that's when it all starts to come together and make sense.

I like to look at things differently, from a different angle, or a different perspective, or just a different viewpoint. Where you might look at a tree from a distance and take in the whole tree, I might stand under it and look straight up at the spaces that the branches create. Try it, if you look at life differently, you will evolve and grow.
