I do not remember a time before photography. Even in primary school I was in the darkroom doing my own B&W. To me it is a way of learning, a personal thing. Most of my images are of things that are familiar to me, that I have lived with. Many people travel to photograph but I prefer the familiar.
Just as one can never step into the same river twice, one can never see the same world again. The differences, however, are usually in us.
Look at your own pictures and ask yourself, what does that say about you, how you were feeling, how was your life?
Our images can be a fascinating way to let someone else see what we see and, perhaps, feel what we feel and know what we know for a moment. Alternately, and better still, our different reactions speak to the spaces between us and bring new ideas.
