Hello, I'm Milt,

I take pictures because I must. I have a sprig of spectrum which has always demanded that I create. I also play in a very original band. I want to share my thoughts about being an artist.

My band makes original music from nearly all the decades. With not many of the hooks that create hits. I play guitar and I sing. I’ve composed all the songs and written all the lyrics. So far, we’ve nine songs that we’ve recorded. We have nearly 100 songs ideas that haven’t been developed. I do these things because I must and because it’s fun.

Doing what appeals to me is part of my everyday life, and so photography has called me from a deep abyss. And helped me find my best self in the process. Yes I work full-time; But I find delight in beauty and positivity. Being this way, creates a feeling of freedom better than just about anything else I’m aware of.

And so I hope every photograph I make is beautiful. I despise ugliness; i’ve been assaulted and battered for street photography. I’ve been assaulted several times. But what I celebrate is the light in everyone; and so I feel that light constantly as part of my existence.

I fear very little in my pursuit of creativity. I don’t actively fear AI. But I’m concerned with being able to tell the difference; In our own photographs and others. It’s all good when we can. Will there come a time with generative AI when we can’t?

Back to what’s fun! I adore vintage lenses. I find them delightful. I love all their defects. And I find truth in them that I don’t see in a lot of things. After all these lenses were designed with slide rules and pencils. It took far longer to design a lens then than it does now. I’m open to discussion in regard of this.

Are modern lenses too perfect? I’m not the one for that question. Although I suspect I know the answer. What I love is the imperfection of vintage lenses; after all life is imperfect. I love that vintage lenses have no AI in them

Making art is wonderful. My cameras are at least four years old. The key here is I love to experiment. I improvise both on the street making my images; and also in the Band. I can see the light in every moment - that is a choice I make.

It’s the light that is in someone’s eyes when they graduate from school... or when we feel the joy of Every moment. It’s an opportunity to feel love and to express love. I think creativity is all about love.
