Where do I begin with Mr. Rafa Olivares? Well for one, the man likes Depeche Mode and The Psychedelic Furs… that in and of itself is worthy of adoration. I will say his body of work is nothing short of remarkable. There is a soulful meaning in what he captures through his lens, a subtle insight into all things that make him who he is – a gifted photographer. If pressed, would venture to say that Rafa reveals a bit of himself every time he makes the shutter go “click” – and that is saying something considering that Rafa doesn’t post many self portraits… wait, wait – let me think, come to think of it, I don’t recall seeing any self portraits…hum! I have never had the pleasure of meeting him in person, but sight unseen, I can say that he is what a lot of us aspire to be… meaningful, passionate and above all, a kind and gentle soul.
