SAMUEL INDRATMA

Born : December 22, 1970, Gombong, Central Java, Indonesia.

Founder of Apotik Komik (1997-2005), the visual art group in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Currently lives and work in Yogyakarta, Indonesia EDUCATION 1990-1996 studied graphic art, faculty of Fine Art, Indonesian Institute of Arts, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. One of the founder of “Jogjakarta Mural Forum” in 2005, and Jogjakarta Comic Society.

Exhibition of comic murals in a house yard at the Nitiprayan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. This exhibition involved the participation of 13 artists living in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. 1997

GALERI PUBLIK APOTIK KOMIK

Founding of a public street gallery for the duration of one year. Six young artists from Jakarta and Jogjakarta participated in exhibitions for this project. 2000- 2001

 

SAMA-SAMA CITY MURAL PROJECT, involving the participation of 15 Jogjakarta-based artists, with venues in various public spaces of Jogjakarta. 2002

SAMA-SAMA / YOU’RE WELCOME, Indonesian - American Art Colaboration. Apotik Komik – Clarion Alley Mural Project. “SAMA-SAMA/ YOU’RE WELCOME” is an international collaboration and exchange between community arts organization and artists from San fransisco [ U.S.A ] and Jogjakarta [ Indonesia ] This project design to foster understanding of Contemporary art and culture between the two communities through the creation of new work.
