Pedro A. Figueredo is an visual artist working in painting, artists’ books, collage, and box constructions. Pedro’s creates lyrical abstract artworks inspired by nature, music, literature, and emotions. He uses spontaneous gestures and precise application of paint to achieve a harmonious composition of colors, layers, and luminosity.
He was born in Bayamo, Cuba, grew up in New York City, and now resides in Little Havana neighborhood, Miami, Florida. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Columbia University, and a Master in Arts in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida. He was named Art Editor of the Journal of Multidisciplinary Research in Fall 2014.
Figueredo has exhibited his paintings and artists’ books at the Galeria Adelmo (Miami, Florida), ArtServe (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida), Art Center/South Florida (Miami Beach, Florida), Arts Garage (Delray Beach, Florida); Archbishop John C. Favalora Archive and Museum, St. Thomas University (Miami Gardens, Florida), Bienes Museum of the Book Arts (Fort Lauderdale, Florida), Rev. Jorge A. Sardiñas Gallery, St. Thomas University (Miami Gardens, Florida), and at the Miami-Dade Public Library System (Miami, Florida).
