FAQ // FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GENERAL QUESTIONS (for film and photography)

How does a film or photo production collaboration work?

After your inquiry, we discuss goals, target audience, and how the images or film will be used. This is followed by concept development, planning, shooting, and post-production. You are involved in every step and will have the opportunity to review and approve the content before final delivery.

What happens if a shoot has to be postponed (illness or bad weather)?

Postponements are generally possible. However, the following applies:

In case of illness: For larger projects, I work with a backup team. If I am unable to attend, a qualified replacement who is fully briefed will be available to keep the production on schedule.

In case of cancellation: Since fixed capacities are reserved, staggered cancellation fees apply to fairly distribute the risk for both parties. For international productions, travel cancellation insurance is strongly recommended.

What is included in the price?

The price includes pre-production (initial consultation/meeting), the agreed shooting time, and post-production. For photography, you receive not just a minimum number of images but all strong images from the entire shoot, including usage rights.

For film productions, you receive the final edited film, but not the raw footage.

Are there any hidden costs?

No. I value full transparency. In addition to the production fee, only clearly defined additional costs apply: travel expenses and per diems (based on effort or flat rate), as well as a data fee. This covers hard drive storage and secure archiving of your material. All items are listed individually in the offer in advance—no surprises.

How are the files (photos and films) delivered?

Files are delivered via digital download (WeTransfer, SwissTransfer, or similar providers), USB stick, or cloud links.

FAQ FILM

How much does a film production cost?

Costs depend on scope, length, production effort, and intended use. Smaller productions usually start in the low four-figure range, while larger image or documentary films are priced higher accordingly. I do not offer fixed packages—only transparent, customized assessments and offers.

What is included in the price?

Depending on the project, this may include concept development, filming, editing, color grading, sound design, and delivery in various formats. All services are clearly listed in the offer.

How long does post-production take for image films and social media reels?

Post-production for image and explainer films usually takes 4 to 8 days, depending on project scope and film length. Reels are generally produced faster due to their shorter format. Documentary films require more lead time and post-production effort.

Are there additional costs?

Possible additional costs may include travel expenses, extra shooting days, voice-over artists, music licenses, or special equipment. These are always communicated in advance.

Do you also handle concept development and shooting schedules?

Yes. I support you from the initial idea through storyboard development to the shooting and production plan. On request, I also create complete concepts for image films, recruiting videos, or explainer videos.

How is the music selected – is it royalty-free?

Music is selected to match the rhythm and mood of the film. I use professional platforms such as Artlist or Soundstripe to ensure that all licenses are legally covered for the intended use (e.g., social media or website). We are happy to align on the desired musical direction in advance; the final selection is made during editing so that visuals and sound harmonize perfectly.

Where do you work?

I work locally and nationwide. Shoots throughout Germany and, by arrangement, internationally are possible.

Do clients receive the raw footage?

As a rule, only the finished film is delivered, not the full raw footage.

Video buy-outs are possible (additional fee on production costs).

In general:

Regional / Social Media only: factor 0.5 – 1.0 of production costs

National (TV, cinema, online): factor 1.5 – 2.5

Total buy-out (including raw footage & project files): factor 2.5 – 4.0 or a flat fee by agreement

Why do usage rights cost extra?

In a production, you pay for two things: the labor (craft) and the usage (value creation).

FAQ PHOTO

What is your style and are the photos edited?

I combine documentary authenticity with an artistic eye. For you, this means I capture real, unposed moments while paying close attention to composition and light to create a high-quality, aesthetic visual language. All final images are professionally edited (color, contrast, overall look) without appearing artificial. My style is timeless and natural, ensuring your images still look modern years from now and don’t follow short-lived filter trends.

Can we see a complete gallery and examples?

You can find insights and impressions of my work and style on my website and social media channels: Instagram • Facebook • Flickr

How long does photo editing take?

Post-production usually takes 5 to 7 days.

Are we allowed to use the photos everywhere?

For example, on the website, social media, and printed brochures?

Yes, you may use the images across all platforms and media, provided no third-party personal rights are violated.

Are the images licensed for an unlimited time, or do we have to pay again after two years?

All images you receive from a joint shoot can be used indefinitely.

May we pass the images on to partners or the press for reporting purposes?

The images may be shared as long as partners or the press publish them in a related promotional context. They may not be used for their own purposes or self-serving campaigns.

Do we have to credit you as the author (photo credit) with every publication?

Wherever possible, yes. That means wherever there is space and it does not interfere with the layout. If a credit would disrupt or impair the overall appearance, it is sufficient to list it in the imprint.

Can we purchase exclusive usage rights so the images do not appear with other clients?

As long as the images have not already been distributed or sold elsewhere, this is possible. Prices are negotiated individually depending on usage purpose and scope.

In general:

Basic (local, 1 year, 1 medium): +25% to 50%

Extended (online, print, PR, unlimited duration): +100% to 200%

Exclusive (no one else may use the images): +300% to 400%
