Learned photography as a teenager photographing the family and steam trains; (baby boomer, nerd). Tried a few cameras till my first SLR - a Yashica J-3. Learned some elements of composition from my father, who was an amateur artist.
Spent many years using the Olympus OM system. Will post some scans, every so often.
I'm an amateur photographer and tend to take most photos when on holidays. Now trying to unlearn habits from the film days like avoiding the 1-2 hours after sunrise and 1-2 hours before sunset. I take lots of "specimen", travel and documentary photos with the occasional "art" one happening - more or less by accident.
My digital portfolio will be from the following cameras: Canon A620, Olympus E-300 (borrowed), Canon 40D, Canon 6D, Sony RX100III, Canon EOS R & R5 (mostly with EF lenses for now), iPhones 4S, 6S, 8+ and 11 Pro and Samsung S23 Ultra.
Re the use of AI in processing, I will declare my conscious use of AI in the keywords: currently one or more of the Topaz suite of programs. I occasionally use generative fill in Photoshop, mainly on the periphery to complete panoramas; I'm not sure what's happening in the editing program, so won't declare unless there is a significant impact on the subject.
