Welcome to the photograph archive for the Generations campaign, from The Outward Bound Trust!

Generations was launched last November as a way of re-connecting with our past Outward Bound participants. Since 1941, 1 million people have participated on an Outward Bound course in the UK. We want to get back in contact with these 1 million people, and find out their memories and experiences of Outward Bound so we can share it with future generations, and ensure that young people continue to participate on our courses. In doing so, we hope the profile of our organisation will be raised amongst the general public and more people than ever before will support our work.

Our Generations campaign has its own website - www.outwardboundgenerations.org.uk where you can share your story if you would like to. It’s a very simple process of completing an online form, submitting your details and posting your story. We have almost 300 stories already posted, which I think is a true testament to the lasting impact of our work. I will also contact my colleagues at Ullswater and pass on your course details – they should be able to pass on the names of the other people on your course and if I have their contact details as part of this campaign, I will be sure to pass them on to you, it would truly amazing for you to get back in touch with them after almost 40 years!
