My 13 year old son took the image that has become my new buddy icon!

2008 has arrived and it has now been just over two years since I started shooting with a dSLR. This hobby has turned into a passion that I'm sure will be lifelong. I am still a newbie but try to learn something new every time I pick up the camera. I've met some terrific photo buddies through Flickr and really love the community here. I'm always looking for ways to improve, so don't hesitate to leave any comments positive or negative.

Since I am fortunate enough to live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest my favorite subject is our abundant natural beauty, especially flowing water and the coast. I also enjoy capturing my family and friends doing the things that they love, and you'll see a bit of that here as well. I've done some reading and taken a couple of short classes, but most of my shooting at this point is more by instinct than by training.

I shoot the Nikon system, and also have my trusty Sony P100 for a pocket digicam. Make sure you check out the photostreams of my wife Michelle, our friends Todd & Angi, my sister Kim, and my brother-in-law Josh.
