Hi, my name is Lauren and I am addicted to Flickr.

It has been 60 seconds since I last took a photo.

Yeah...so I have a slight addiction to photography. Or perhaps it is just an addiction to photographic equipment.

I shoot with....

Canon EOS 40D

Canon EOS 350D

Battery Grip BG-ED3

Battery Grip (For 40D - what's the code again?)

Canon 17-40mm f/4L USM

Sigma 10mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye

Canon 50mm f/1.8

Canon Speedlite 430EX

Wolverine 120GB portable storage device.

Lenses that I own, but hardly use....(because I am in love with my L)

Canon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 (kit lens)

Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6

Canon 28-80mm (can't remember the other specs - it's in my cupboard)

I have travelled a fair bit in my 30 years of orbiting the sun.

Wanna know where?

Too bad if you said no!

First up a whole bunch of South Pacific Islands.....I can't remember all the places, but how about Suva, Noumea, Mystery Island, Dravuni Island...I can't remember the rest. But what do you expect? I was only 10.

I lived in Bangkok, Thailand from the age of 15-17. I attended the International School of Bangkok and this is where my addiction to photography began.

While living overseas I travelled to Penang (Malaysia), & Singapore along with Kanchanaburi in Thailand.

In December '06 & January '07 I travelled to Egypt....all on my own. My mother spent that 12 days living on the edge of her seat. She hasn't yet come to terms with the fact that I was almost 30 at the time.

In May of 2008 I am travelling (alone again) to the United States of America to attend a friends wedding. And see some sights along the way of course. Over the course of 3 weeks I am off to San Francisco, New York, Washington DC, Virginia (for the wedding) and Las Vegas. This will be enough to give my mother a coronary. (Apparently she reserves the right to worry until I am at least 35). Keep an eye out.....I have my camera and plenty of memory. You may be bored with it when I am finished.

The more I know about Lauren, the more I like her. she's a fantasic photographer of a wide variety of subjects, and she's one of the best self-portraitists I know of. I admire her way with a camera and I study her photos hoping to glean a little bit of her knowledge so that I might become better with my own camera. I had the joy of meeting her in person when she was in Washington, D.C., which turned her from a Flickr friend into a real-life friend. I look forward to our next meeting. Now if only that stupid Pacific Ocean weren't between us. ;-)
