My name is Tevhide Ayasli.

I am an artisan living in Istanbul.

I started designing jewellery in 1986. My silver jewellery which I crafted in my workshop in Kapalıçarşı were sold in Beymen stores as well as in Paris. In time, I added gold (24 carats) and semi-precious stones to my designs. I practiced with many different materials like plastic, paper and fabric in combination with precious stones, trying to find new ways of bringing them together to create jewellery. This experimental endeavor lasted for almost 20 years. My first exhibition, in Ayşe Takı Galerisi in 2006 was named “The time of the rose”. In june 2011, my second exhibiton, consisting solely of paper products, was displayed in Nicol Tasarım in İstanbul. Meanwhile I was becoming interested in other design work, e.g. making handbags. Like most women, handbags have always been a passion for me. I am creating fabric handbags at home for 2 years now.
