The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) is the only cancer program in the country that features an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center aligned with a nationally ranked academic medical center and a free-standing cancer hospital. It is a part of one of the nation’s largest public universities and is singularly focused on its vision to create a cancer-free world, one person, one discovery at a time.

The James is the clinical care arm of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of only 41 in the country designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The OSUCCC – James encompasses 275 comprehensive cancer center members from 11 of the 14 colleges at The Ohio State University and includes physicians from 16 specialties.

A founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, the OSUCCC – James is approved by the NCI to conduct both phase I and phase II clinical trials for new anticancer drugs.

In 2010, the OSUCCC – James received the highest rating possible on its five-year Support Grant renewal application to the NCI, which ranked the institution as “exceptional” and stated that it “should serve as the model for other matrix university-based centers.”
