One of my new favorites on Flickr. Explores relationships between texture and color, organic objects with pop culture references, you should see her work with cut up jewelry ads. wicked!
Ophelia doesn't only swim, she dives, she gets to the place where the sky is water and the sun-shattered water is the ground. She discovers effervescent bubble trails of forgotten images and colors, and brings them back to the surface.
Ophelia does some of the most amazing, original cut paper collages I've ever seen. Her color choices and compostions are always inspiring and fresh. Not only is her art great, but she seems to be a genuinely nice and thoughtful person.....oh, and she clearly has a wonderful sense of humor...Mr.Pooh! Thanks for s… Read more

Who gives a Pooh? Ophelia Chong, better known as ophelia chong. With all of her body of works this should be easy but it is not. There is no pigeon hole or cricket basket or bird cage I can squeeze ophelia into as her works range over a wide variety of mediums and she expresses a wide degree of ability in all she does. There is her version of Pooh. The Movement with a Message and I beg you to go find him in her stream while watching for 'fresh ones' on the way! She is a printer by choice and design and a damn good one using her abilities at the printer (as her about which kind and make) to disiplay her unusual and moving collages of print material or prints of collages that are, I believe, her trademark. There are her blogs which I recommend and her trips to Hong Kong which I recommend but that all added up says little about her. She is shy and reserved and her work speaks to us from a detached and objective place that is as refreshing and clean as it is powerful. It is a sign of a rare gift when one's work stand solidly on its own as if it created itself out of thin air and points nowhere but to it's own merit and worth. I feel that I have spent the day in a grand museum after visiting Ophelia's stream and become somehow richer and wiser as a result without knowing any of the particulars. She is a professional artist and her profession is the better for her. But we shall not be intimidated by her gift. We are inspired and educated instead and made more capable to pursue our own niche as a result of viewing her humble and visionary work. Written for Sala de Luna Group.
Read lessOphelia is an amazingly cool, funny, witty and mercurial, art director chick with a healthy sense of the absurd. Ophelia is a genius, and I'm proud to be her friend.
Each new upload from her captures my attention, always thinking "now what she's up to?" Her slicing is most original and her latest obsession with "OC" is most unbelievable ;)

She is in a constant state of being curious and amazed by the life she descovers on her way. She transforms the world in such surprising way. I am always amazed that she has done this or that. The greatest gifts of her is being in a constant creative process. I can see how her brain is buzzing whenever I look at her art. The weight of her art is greatly intensive and important. Her sense of humour is incredibly visible on all of these photos. I love to explore the stream of her life. Thank you, Ophelia.
Read lessOphelia's photos contains gorgeous and inspirational art. I have never seen such work before in my life. Not only does she share her personality through her artwork but she expresses her inner child with witty and fantastical thoughts.
Organic, varied and guiless, Ophelia's steady stream of work is a full of humor and delightful surprises. I always look forward to seeing her latest stuff. Thanks for sharing it, Ophelia!
Ophelia's wit and style are undeniable. Her collages are true works of art. She takes little pieces from here and there and melds them into beautiful flowing works that are stunning. And can I mention Mister Pooh? He's the Shit! "There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot, but there are others… Read more

These are not only works of art, but the very essence of artistic craft. It seems as if Ophelia reaches into that most perceptive part of your mind and paints what she sees into life, and flavours that newborn work with wry humour. These are not only works of art, but the very essence of artistic craft. It seems as if Ophelia reaches into that most perceptive part of your mind and paints what she sees into life, and flavours that newborn work with wry humour. Oscar Wilde was wrong when he said all art was useless. This art is a reason to go outside and see the world in new ways, and come back to see those impressions reflected here. I am in awe.
