Founded in 2003, OPEN CINEMA is dedicated to the innovative use of cinema as a tool for community engagement. We do this by screening social justice documentaries followed by post-screening discussion with invited guests in cafe style venues. Since 2012, we have been exploring ways to use social media to extend the live event engagement beyond the room. Connecting the Docs is an innovative #hybridCinema format that is generously supported by the Canada Media Fund.
