I love to photograph beautiful women in a beautiful way. My main subjects are portraits, lingerie and art-nude pictures of gorgeous women. And since beauty can take on many forms I like to take pictures of a lot of different women. If you are offended by nudity, you've come to the right place! Here you can feel upset, insulted, aggrieved, affronted, displeased, annoyed, angered and disstressed as much as you want to, But my main goal is to make you stop for a moment and admire the female beauties on these pages. I hope you like what you see.
The models who posed nude usually approached me first; sometimes I contacted them via their own website. Most of the art nude models you see here are (semi) professionals. They travel the world, going to many different places, and arrange to have several shoots in a certain area with photographers who are (more or less) used to work with art nude models. They publish their travel plans ahead of time and actively approach photographers who might be interested. Because they work with a wide variety of people their portfolio can be quite diverse. They get paid for their work - but it's worth it because you get someone who is used to communicate about the nature of the shoot, arrives on time, is usually well prepared, has several different options for styling, is used to undress in front of a stranger and still be at ease, and they all know how to pose.
To find models I go to sites like Modelmayhem, Purpleport or Modelmanagement. These and others are good websites to find models who are dedicated to creating art together. It's where photographers and models meet and make arrangements to organize a shoot.
If you are respectful, friendly and professional at all times, it's actually pretty easy to have a good time together. I have been laughing a lot while working with the models, and I hope you can see most of them were very much at ease and enjoying the collaboration. Professional models tend to be open-minded, creative, communicative, and fun to work with. All models are of course 18+, and in most cases 22+.
I'm a guy, they're a woman and therefore it's very important to never sexualize the situation - so, no innuendos, no remarks about e.g. the size of their breasts, no touching (never! unless very clearly and unambigiously agreed upon), no flirting. But once that is clear you can actually both enjoy the collaboration. It's fun most of the time! And because I usually get along quiet well with the models, I have worked with several of them more than once. I also have a lot of positive references on the model sites which were written by the models after our collaboration. That helps other models to decide whether they want to work with me. But if you're just starting the best advice I can give you is; don't be a jerk. Be polite and correct. Be kind. Praise the model for her work, be enthusiastic about the results. Even if it's not that good right away it tends to get much better if you're showing encouragement and appreciation.
Some art nude photographers work together with other people like stylists and make up artists. I never did but once, and decided that's not for me. So it's always me and the model in one room (or somewhere in nature) and that makes it easier for me to create an atmosphere of both trust and professional drive to get the best results.
My journey into photography started with portraits, and slowly developed into a fondness for art nude. Most shots are taken in my home studio, a nice place with very good natural light. I love to go other places too - to challenge myself, and to learn to see the light, and how it affects the subject. You will also find pictures taken at various outdoor locations, most notably the Redhead Festival, my favorite gathering of gingers. And on several occassions I went with an art nude model into the woods, beaches and dunes of my home country. I also made several trips to New York City and arranged to have some shoots while being there.
I rarely use studio lightning, but I know how to. I prefer natural light, and over the years have learnt a bit about how to make good use of it.
I always shoot in RAW - most photographers will "automatically" use Jpeg. But although a bit hard to master, RAW gives you far more possibilities to edit the photo, and then transfer them to Photoshop, where the editing and retouching continues, until you get what you see here: the final pictures. They are all published in small format - the originals are much larger. In case you were considering buying one or more - I'm sure they would look fabulous on your wall, when printed :-)
Actually, it all started because I needed more pictures to edit - so I organized a shoot with a model, found out I liked it, and a some years later had worked with a few hundred models. Yes, crazy! But portraits and art nudes really are my favorite subject, and I enjoy editing the pictures on my computer. Over the years I learnt to use some of the many possibilities that Photoshop can give you. Yes, I went way too far in the beginning but learnt to be more subtle later on. It's important for me that it looks natural, yet somehow better than what you get with a point and shoot camera. I always strive to make something special out of the raw material of the original picture.
A few years back I discovered Flickr and I'm very happy with my Pro account, and the possibility to showcase my work without having to censor it. By using appropriate tags, joining a great many groups, and publishing one or two pictures every day I now have a nice band of followers, and a few million views every month. Somehow, I like it that so many people appreciate my work. Thank you! Flickr has also made me aware how many incredibly good photographers are out there, making pictures that I can only dream of. It's a great inspiration to see people who are much better at their craft than I am, and it helps to have some goals in photography and editing. Another thing I like about photography is that there's always room to grow and improve - it's an endless journey.
I'm not particularly interested in gear. Of course I know my way around in the wonderful world of ISO, aperture, manual mode, and the like, but a lot of the pictures you see here were taken with the very modest Canon EOS 550D. Recently I upgraded to Canon EOS RP, and it IS a great improvement over the 550, particurlarly when you zoom in into the details. But a keen eye for light and settings, genuine contact with the model, knowing a few poses, and the possibilities of Photoshop are more important for the end result than better gear.
I don't think those that should read this actually will, but: I instantly block people who leave a rude comment, sexual remarks and hoarders of pictures who do not show one bit of appreciation. Which translates as: I block almost every day at least some people. It doesn't matter much: I'm enjoying my work. And I DO like it if you leave comments. Appreciation is welcome, critique that helps me develop as a photographer even more.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you're a professional model, or just a curious to find out more about posing as, or working with, art nude models. You can easily find me on the sites mentioned above. You can also send me a message here on Flickr.

Sheltering from the heatwave, I have spent a bit chunk of the day with one of my best friends and her teenage daughter, who intends to support herself through studies as a model.. We are delighted by the beauty of the models. Aletta, the Olgas, Kate Ri and Satine are sensational beauties, though my favourite and that of my young friend is Colleen on account of her startling dynamism and grace. She is incredibly inspiring and and giving in her work. Sensational Photostream. Thank you for your work building it.

I've always considered your work to be First Class but it took your request for a Testimonial to push me forward to write this. There are lots of nude and glamour "photographers" on Flickr but few that match your skill with posing, lighting and camera. It doesn't hurt that your models are drop dead gorgeous and your ability to help them relax in front of your lens doesn't hurt. Keep up the good work - its tough but someone has to do it!
Read lessI like your work. You seem to listen to the needs and wants of your models. Some are indoors, some on location. Some are risky, some are quite tame. Emily had an octopus on her head but a serious expression on her face, which I loved. What you do is beautiful. Keep up the good work.
I've not written any other testimonial on here, but, since you prompted us. I'd just like to say that you turn out a never ending stream of great photos of stunning models. Day in, day out. And I don't know how you manage to do it. Thanks for sharing
I'm amazed how many beautiful women their are that openly pose/ bare it all given how critical society can be for doing so. I often wonder what makes them so open in doing so.
I prefer to see photos that are sensual, not sexual. I love to see women be women. I would rather, in my mind, want to see them naked than actually see them laid out naked.
I like your pictures. Always capturing feminine beauty in an elegant and sensual way.
Love the way you are able to capture beauty.
