I usually take straight forward photos to document moments, people and places I would like to remember as I grow older and forgetful. I enjoy learning about Japanese History and travel to many historical locations (which usually coincide with Buddhist Temples and Shinto Jinja) when I am able.
I am currently walking the Old Tokaido, Old Oyama Kaido and Old Nakasendo in segments when I have time and money, but also want to walk the Nikko Kaido, Koshu Kaido and Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage to name a few, with my camera and fully charged batteries in hand. I also hope to climb Mt. Fuji from the first station (because I only intend on climbing it once). If You enjoy history, then You'll likely enjoy what I have to offer.
I originally wrote most of my titles and descriptions in Japanese. I then realized that, as much of my photo stream is in Japan, many Japanese have already photographed/described the same locations. Looking at foreigners' photos that visited, they often mislabeled or didn't understand the importance or history of them. I then decided to use English (and Japanese), so that those who are interested but who don't understand Kanji, etc. could still enjoy them and learn more.
When I was single, I thought it was the best life that I could live.
When I married, I thought it was even better.
When I became a Father, I realized that the joy that I was sharing with my Beautiful Wife had really only just begun.

Of course, anybody that goes around shooting pictures of manhole covers is a fine human being in my book. Hope to meet again someday for more adventures in old (and new) Japan !
