Since 1929, The Henry Ford has been collecting America's most pivotal and influential stories of innovation. Our latest collection, "Collecting Innovation Today," captures the stories of some of today's greatest innovators and visionaries. The behind-the-scenes photos taken during these interviews are now featured here on Flickr as a part of the OnInnovation program outreach for educational and personal use. As of February 2010, the stories of "Collecting Innovation Today" are also featured at OnInnovation.com which links iconic innovators past and present. What started in 2008 with a single interview with barrier-breaker Lyn St. James has snowballed into a creative collaborative with some of our country's greatest innovators from Pierre Omidyar, founder of eBay to Bill Gates, Steve Wozniak and more.

Roughly a century after Henry Ford first decided to turn his private passion as a collector into a public institution, The Henry Ford in Dearborn, MI, has become America's Greatest History Attraction. Ford was passionate about preserving the stories and artifacts of the innovators and inventors who changed the lives of everyday Americans and passing that inquisitiveness and zeal on to new generations. At The Henry Ford, you'll find 26 million objects and artifacts - examples of American ingenuity and imagination spanning more than 300 years.
