My Etsy Shop - Selling my Video Game Needlework, Coasters, and Magnets

My Blog

My 43 Things

Some random facts about me:

- I spend a somewhat outrageous amount of time making videogame fancraft and I started this flickr photostream mostly to document it. Right now I stick mostly to perler beads and needlepoint with a small amount of stained glass thrown in, but I plan to branch out into quilting, amigurumi, and woodcarving eventually.

- My name "ghosts_in_towers" is, for lack of a better word, 'inspired" by the Rich Kids song Ghosts of Princes in Towers. Unfortunately, my usual standby screenname "OneChordWonder" (taken from an Adverts song) was already taken on flickr, so the name-change clashes with my blog and my etsy shop. Just try to think of me as J. and that should make things smoother.

- My favorite video games include: the Dragon Warrior/Quest series, Maniac Mansion, the Katamari games, River City Ransom, Megaman 2, Super Mario Galaxy, the original Legend of Zelda, Shining Force, World of Warcraft

I also like old school PC games, including the ones that are all text. I've spent a bit of time in the LegendMud and the LambdaMOO.

- I am pretty good at those skill crane machines (the ones with the claw and the stuffed animals) and I keep a trophy shelf of my winnings.

- My worst job ever: working in the can room of a recycling plant. People don't usually rinse out their cans first before throwing them into a recycle bin, which may or may not be a newsflash to you, and all that crusted beer, soda, and various food products came to die in that can room. And most of it found its final resting place on my clothes and on my shoes.

- I collect records, VHS tapes, fortune cookie fortunes, those mashed up pennies you get at tourist attractions, guitar picks, etc etc etc.
