While growing up in London in the 60's and 70's I was lucky enough to have an older brother who liked taking photos. Not wishing to be outdone I followed in his footsteps. Unfortunately the quality of these photos weren't great because the camera's I had weren't great! I started off with a small black plastic box thing, then I had one where you looked 'down' into the viewfinder, followed by my 'colour' Kodak Instamatic, and then the everfaithful Zenith SLR. I ended up with a Dixons Chinnon. Not the best I know! but I'm now so so glad I took the camera out with me all over the place as a youngster. Most of my older photo's are of either London or Lytham St Annes in Lancashire, as Lytham was the home of my grandparents and we headed there each year for our summer holidays, and compared to London it was heaven. I sort of gave up 'taking snaps' in the 90's but now with the onset of digitals and sites like these the passion returns. But more than anything, I love seeing good quality colour photo's from the 1970's. I also spent a few years in the RAF and developed a huge interest in and admiration for the RAF during World War Two.
