I am an image-maker based in beautiful British Columbia, Canada where I live with my wife Kasia and son Oli. My photographic journey started in the early 1990s and found that it provoked a different way of seeing the world. I was curious to see how I could achieve my vision and transfix the moment. I could compose by using light, line and perspective.
It is the silence that helps me to seek out uncommon perspectives and places. The best days are when I wander into less travelled and ideally never photographed corners of North America.
My photographic work is offered as fine prints and stock images for commercial licensing. Although the simplicity and texture of film always brings nostalgia I have fully embraced the digital medium. I spend a lot of time photographing in the field and I minimize the time spent in front of a computer. I work an exclusively with the Fuji X-series cameras and Fujinon lenses. However, I believe that the camera is not the most important element in photography. After all, it is the rich colours of British Columbia and the grand vistas that provide my vision. All that is left for us to do is master the “art of seeing.”
