i think of the work as (mostly) urban visual poetry. it expresses not merely what i see but also what i feel about what i see. there's probably nothing unique in that description. it's possibly what many of us do when we're out there in the world with a camera or other instrument that records fragments of our surroundings.

Ojoblanco’s stream is a gold-mine for an art critic. All kinds of grandiose words can be used to describe his stuff, but I’ll leave that to them. I’ll just keep coming back to get intoxicated.

Lester is a great photographer who makes very personal impressions of whatever is to be seen around in his world . But he is more than a photograper he is a creator of new images just like a modern painter who uses his imagination and some paint to make a design with a vision. Remember discovering the works of your now favorite artists? that excitement, that unquenchable thirst and emotions unveiled? ojo's work evoques a certain feeling similar to this, I am always looking forward to seeing what his eyes are up to, always offering a fresh, new reinvention of his own perception(s),presenting … Read more

It's always a pleasure to come here and stay long minutes looking at his photos. So much to look and a lot more to see. One of my best `aesthetic moments` on flickr :) Obrigada, amigo. :)*

ojoblanco has been a strong inspiration to extend the limits of my work. So much I've been learning here, looking his very special, beautiful, artistic, deep way to look the world... a way to dimensions of our reality, to be explored, expanding minds.

This man taught me to never look at a window the same way. Les, you're a mage with a camera.

Ojoblanco is Spanish for white eye, although a more appropriate characterization would be ojo muchos colores, because Lester has an eye not only for color but composition, imposition, and design, the way shapes and colors fit together and clash in the urban landscape, often as reflected in a window. I make it a point to visit here nearly every day not only to soak in ojoblanco's latest images but for inspiration as well.

Lester is the man who started it all for me. When i was thinking about doing a fotoblog, looking through /ojo_blanco´s photos made me realize that fotolog.net wasn´t teenage crap! So I decided to start the "Rio by Bus" project. That´s when it all began!

I know Ojo's work since a long time from Fotolog. His photos got a unique style, what makes me feel very interested in them. And they are always very creative. It's very nice to follow his work again! ;-)

I can always count on Ojo's photostream to "feed my head." His work reminds me of Degas' dictum on drawing albeit adapted to the art of digital photography: "It is all very well to shoot {copy} what you see, but it is better to photoshop {draw} what you see in your mind... Then your memory & your imagination are freed … Read more
