My Flickr journey started out in pain (suicide of someone I knew) to try and uplift others who may be hurting. I thought I would post some of my photos and attach some powerful quotes to help some people feel better. Suddenly I was meeting people from all around the world, people who shared a love and passion for expressing a deeper part of their creative selves and people who seemed to want to uplift others in the same way. One of my first friends was Sparky Leigh (now under Leigh Hibert) who told the most amazing stories about whales from the coast of British Columbia in Canada. These connections with people were real and many felt like kindred spirits. During this time my meditation practice was fueling my desire to sing and draw and paint and take pictures and I began to share more of this unfolding as also I was a part of other people's journeys as well. What I often look for in a photo or piece of art is the story, the heart of the seer, does it move my heart or it simply a pleasing picture to look at. I always look for a deeper light or sparkle or insight that speaks to me. This essence can give me so much joy if i feel drawn in. It's the same way I feel in my own creative process, there has to be a deeper wave that arises to come and bring me to new ground.
