CA - Orange County

I have always had the desire to dress up and try to be pretty since I was a kid. I really don't know why. It just makes me feel good! Even though I am attracted to females I just have this feminine thing going on inside me that wants me to be a part time as a girl. Even socially I am more comfortable conversing with women than with men. It's like when trying to relate to a guy as a guy, we are on different wavelengths. Are there others that feel that way too?

A question we always seem to ask ourselves is why we do this. I've thought quite a bit about it and the answer seems to change from day to day. The closest analogy I can come up with is golfing. If you ask people why they golf you will get a myriad of answers. But given that golfing is expensive, not really good exercise, eats up a lot of time and most golfers are really not that good at it, they find it enjoyable. It's the same with cross-dressing.

Update - March 2011

Have you ever been simultaneously terrified and exhilarated ? Well I just experienced it. I was over at someone's house for dinner. I was in boy mode and they have no idea that I crossdress. Well, as we were leaving and saying our farewell pleasantries, their little 8 year old girl comes up to me and says, " You look like a girl." right in front of everybody. We all just ignored it and kept on talking, but inside I was like ..... OMG !

KC Tyler posted the paragraph below as a comment to someones picture. I thought it was just so perfect that I wanted to include it here.

But on the serious side... this 'hobby' we all share is far too easily accused of being self-centered. We gather here at a photo-centric site to show each other our illusions. And while that will never change, and I'm not saying it should... we all need to realize that behind these silly pictures are real, living, soul-enabled people. People who are bright, funny, scared, caring, wise, unsure, and more... and with whom we are bonded in this odd unique way. Whether we gather as twos or twenties, let's just be thankful we have each other. If the world is not understanding, and indeed only barely tolerating (spouses included)... then we have each other. And while there is only one person in this picture I've ever met, my tie to this sorority is firm. As is all the rest of us, sisters... ALL of us

KC, you are a treasure.

There are few constants in life, it seems... but I have found one in the photos of my dear sister (and namesake!), Kelly. Her smile is equal parts inspiring, uplifting, comforting, and refreshing. Many of us in this circle of sisters share our photos as a way of sharing our hearts... and for me personally, Kelly's sharings are always a cause for joy! In her, I see someone I've yet to meet in person and yet somehow know represents the beauty of a feminine soul. Plus, she's really, really beautiful (and pretty and adorable and gorgeous and about 50 other words I've used in praise of her)!! It may seem silly to call her a "muse", but I do want to testify that she inspires me to aspire to a gentleness and beauty which I palpably feel every time I see her photos. Bless you, Kelly!!
